After Friday's morning session resulted in each squad earning 2 points, the Americans took early control of the 2012 Ryder Cup as they dominated the Europeans in the afternoon - with honorary captain Michael Jordan looking on. Playing in his American record 9th Ryder Cup, Phil Mickelson went undefeated on the day, winning both his morning and afternoon session matches. His partner for both matches, Keegan Bradley, playing in his first Ryder Cup, made an immediate impact and helped the pair go 2-0 on the day. Meantime, Tiger Woods, who struggled in a morning loss with partner Steve Stricker, was paired with him again in the afternoon. Woods nailed a 25 foot birdie putt on 16th to get within one hole of the Europeans, but Europe's Ryder Cup rookie Nicolas Colsaerts had a debut to remember himself. The 29-year old rolled in a 25 foot birdie putt on 17th to halve the hole, forcing Tiger to birdie 18. He missed, resulting in America's only loss of the afternoon, as team USA goes into the weekend up 5-3 on the Europeans.
