Red Sox Take Series Finale from Orioles

The Red Sox defeated the Orioles 6-3 to avoid a sweep. Dustin Pedroia, Adrian Gonzalez & Cody Ross each knocked in a run in the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie and put Boston ahead for good.

The Red Sox doubled up their AL East rival Orioles in their series finale at Camden Yards on Thursday. Clay Buchholz tossed eight solid innings allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out seven. Mark Reynolds solo home run gave Baltimore an early two run lead, however Boston would rally back. Adrian Gonzalez tied the game at three with his sac fly in the fifth, and later in the sixth Dustin Pedroia drove in the go-ahead run as the Sox prevailed 6-3.
