Beckett Returns, Red Sox Win

The Boston offense pounded out 14 hits and Josh Beckett earned his first win since May 20 as the Red Sox beat the Rays 7-3. Bobby Valetine told the media that Carl Crawford will return Monday.

The Red Sox defeated their AL East rival Rays on Sunday. Josh Beckett pitched six solid innings giving up three earned runs on eight hits while striking out seven. Rays starter James Shields went five innings allowing six earned runs on 11 hits. With the game tied at three in the fifth, Daniel Nava hit a solo homer run to break the tie and Will Middlebrooks provided some breathing room with a two run single later in the inning as the Red Sox win it 7-3.
