The Red Sox were swept by the streaking Rays Wednesday night at Fenway Park. Boston hurler Jon Lester suffered his 14th loss on the year after surrendering three runs on four hits, including back-to-back home runs by Tampa's Carlos Pena and Ben Francisco in the fifth inning. James Loney's sacrifice fly in the home half of the sixth cut the Sox deficit to one but that was as close as they would get. Alex Cobb got the win after limiting the Red Sox to one run through five innings for his tenth "W". Boston dropped their final home game of the season, 4-2.
