The Red Sox dropped the rubber game against the Rangers in Arlington on Wednesday night. Dustin Pedroia belted a solo home run, his seventh of the year, off Derek Holland in the top of the sixth to tie the score at three. But Boston starter Josh Beckett handed Texas the lead in the bottom of the seventh when his wild pitch allowed Elvis Andrus to score. Beckett dropped to a disappointing 5-9 on the season after allowing four runs over seven innings. Nelson Cruz's solo shot in the bottom of the eighth off Matt Albers finished off the Rangers' 5-3 win over the Red Sox.
