The Red Sox edged out the Indians in a close one at Progressive field. Asdrubal Cabrera got the Tribe on the board first with a solo blast in the first inning. That would be the only earned run Clay Buckholz allowed as he quickly turned it on, striking out 6 while going the distance. His counterpart Chris Seddon had a solid outing allowing only 2 earned runs off 5 hits in his 6 inning of work. Dustin Pedroia went 2-3 with an RBI and Cody Ross hit a 6th inning 2 run blast off of Seddon that would give the Sox all the run support they needed, as they held on 3-2.
