Kevin Youkilis made his 1st trip to Fenway Park as a member of the White Sox however it was Youk's former team who would emergence victorious. Youkilis scored the first run of the game in the 1st but Boston countered with an RBI single from Adrian Gonzalez that plated Carl Crawford to tie it at one in the bottom half of the inning. Crawford went 1-3 with two runs scored in his season debut after missing the first half with a wrist injury while his former teammate collected 3 hits on the night. The Red Sox broke the deadlock in the 8th with a four run inning, capped off by a three run blast from Gonzalez as Boston hung the White Sox out to dry, 5-1.
