The Red Sox were swept by the Nationals Sunday afternoon at Fenway. Boston starter Jon Lester limited Washington to three runs on six hits while fanning nine through seven innings but did not factor in the decision. Designated hitter David Ortiz blasted his 14th home run of the year, a solo shot in the fourth that gave the Sox the lead. However, with the game tied at three in the ninth, outfielder Roger Bernadina doubled home Bryce Harper as the winning run in the Nats’ 4-3 victory over the Red Sox. Up next for Boston is a trip to Miami to take on the Marlins in a three-game set starting Monday.
