The
Hawks looked to go up 2-0 against a Celtics squad that was without the suspended
Rajon Rondo and the injured Ray Allen. Jeff Teague scored two of his 18
points on a monster one-handed jam. However, Paul Pierce was the one who had the
monster game. The Truth scored a game-high 36 points on 12-of-26 shooting
and pulled down 14 rebounds as Boston outscored Atlanta by 12 in the fourth
quarter. Pierce's first three-pointer of the series sealed the huge road
win. And the future hall of famer let the crowd know just how big the victory
was. Pierce "tebow-ed" at center court to punctuate the Celtic's 87-80
road triumph over the Hawks. The series now shifts to Boston tied at one game
apiece.
